Kinetic Theory of Gases · Kinetic theory of an ideal gas

Consider two boxes containing ideal gases A and B such that their temperatures, pressures and number densities are same. The molecular size of A is half of that of B and mass of molecule A is four times that of B. If the collision frequency in gas B is 32×10832\times10^{8}/s then collision frequency in gas A is /s.
  1. (1)32×10832\times10^{8}
  2. (2)4×1084\times10^{8}
  3. (3)2×1082\times10^{8}
  4. (4)8×1088\times10^{8}
We corrected a printing error in the original paper

Source printed “32×101832\times10^{18}/s”; corrected to the intended “32×10832\times10^{8}/s” (all options and the source's solution use 10810^{8}; as printed no option fits).
