Electric Potential and Capacitance · Potential

Five positive charges each having charge qq are placed at the vertices of a pentagon as shown in the figure. The electric potential (VV) and the electric field (E⃗\vec E) at the center O of the pentagon due to these five positive charges are :
  1. (1)V=5q4πε0rV = \dfrac{5q}{4\pi\varepsilon_0 r} and E⃗=0\vec E = 0
  2. (2)V=5q4πε0rV = \dfrac{5q}{4\pi\varepsilon_0 r} and E⃗=53 q8πε0r2r^\vec E = \dfrac{5\sqrt3\,q}{8\pi\varepsilon_0 r^2}\hat r
  3. (3)V=5q4πε0rV = \dfrac{5q}{4\pi\varepsilon_0 r} and E⃗=5q4πε0r2r^\vec E = \dfrac{5q}{4\pi\varepsilon_0 r^2}\hat r
  4. (4)V=0V = 0 and E⃗=0\vec E = 0
