Applications of Derivatives · Monotonicity of functions

Consider the following three statements for the function f:(0,∞)→Rf : (0, \infty) \to \mathbb{R} defined by f(x)=∣log⁡ex∣−∣x−1∣f(x) = \lvert\log_e x\rvert - \lvert x - 1\rvert:
(I) ff is differentiable at all x>0x > 0.
(II) ff is increasing in (0,1)(0, 1).
(III) ff is decreasing in (1,∞)(1, \infty).
Then.
  1. (1)All (I), (II) and (III) are TRUE.
  2. (2)Only (I) is TRUE.
  3. (3)Only (II) and (III) are TRUE.
  4. (4)Only (I) and (III) are TRUE.
